Cancerversary

Today is my two year cancerversary, and I couldn't be happier. Today I had a routine bone scan. Results show that my existing bone lesions are improving, and there are no new lesions. What else could a cancer patient ask for?

:)

Overall, I am doing great! I have a MUGA this week to check my heart... after all, it is routine scan time. I expect to everything to be fine this time.

I am working away at summer school, finishing up the high school yearbook, and selling pampered chef! In all my free time (ha ha) I am learning to play golf, trying out new recipes and traveling. Summer is keeping me a busy bee and I couldn't be happier!

I'm glad to see that you are not slowing down... lol. I'm sorry I didn't get to celebrate your 2 year! On the bright side, summer is in full swing. What's a MUGA? More acronyms that I don't know, go figure... Glad you are having fun and hope to chat on line!

A MUGA is a heart test that measures the ejection fraction of the heart. The treatment that I have every three weeks can be hard on the heart, so they routinely check to make sure everything good.

Hi Maxine,
After seeing you yesterday, I came home and spent hours reading your blog, start to finish. You have done a superb job on it and what an inspiration you are to everyone, not only to your friends and family but to everyone who comes in contact with you. Your students and your school system don't know what a gem they have in you, you're giving your students far more of an education than they normally would get - you're giving them life lessons. I have always been so impressed with your positive attitude whenever I've seen you and we always marvel at you making the most of a bad situation and your zest for life. I remember the day you took the photos of the department for your blog and it was great to see how well you have explained all the procedures done in Nuc Med.
It was nice to meet Scott, you've always said what a great person he is and how supportive he is - you're very fortunate to have each other and the strong support of so many friends and family.By all the comments one can tell how deserving you are and that you have been such a good friend to so many.
Enjoy the rest of the summer and have a great time next weekend in Vegas.
Take care of yourself
Bridget
